Motorhome 12 Day UK Tour 2013In the most recent few weeks I have been doing a little voyage through the UK, basically making up for lost time with some old companions and seeing however much unrecorded music as could reasonably be expected. Amid this time I didn’t pay to remain in a campground once. This is what I did:
Day 1: Thursday sixteenth May 2013, Rochester, Kent
I went to Rochester and met my companions at the Medway Marina Bar, which was an extremely serene night with the sun setting over the Medway. Great lager and unrecorded music from The Harper Brothers made it an awesome night which was extremely charming to be sure. John the landowner is an extraordinary bloke and was very cheerful for me to spend a night in the auto stop there that has a place with the marina. The Marina Bar is in a piece of Rochester called Borstal which is unmistakable from the M20 connect that goes over the Meday there.
Day 2: Friday seventeenth May 2013, Toppesfield, Essex
I was in country Essex, a flawless little town called Toppesfield. I had a drink and a feast in the Green Man bar there and observed some extraordinary nearby groups playing in a marquee out the back. A fabulous night and even got the opportunity to sit down to talk with Nik Kershaw who was going to. Tony the landowner was very cheerful for me to spend a night in the bar auto stop in the motorhome.
Day 3, Saturday eighteenth May 2013, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire
There is a layby inverse the bar, however the band were utilizing that for their apparatus, so I simply ceased in the Halfords auto stop ’round the corner. Not the most stylish of outdoors spots, but rather it did the employment.
Day 4, Sunday nineteenth May 2013, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire
We went for a day at the stallion dashing in Market Rasen, that was a considerable measure of fun, albeit subsequent to wagering on a couple of futile bothers, I wound up £9 down on the day – an exceptionally pleasant thing to do all the same. At night I ceased in an auto stop around the local area, no major ordeal as it was Sunday, and went to The George bar to see yet another live shake band.
Day 5, Monday twentieth May 2013, Southwell, Nottinghamshire
Southwell is a lovely town, not a long way from Nottingham. I because here was to see the stunning 16 year old guitarist/lyricist James Gooch and the very skilled society shake of the Brad Deer Band, who had quite recently come back from the Bearded Theory Festival to play at The Admiral Rodney in Southwell. The Admiral Rodney is a substantial bar and lodging.
Day 6, Tuesday 21st May 2013, Watford, Hertfordshire
A Tuesday night in ‘The Horns’ doesn’t more often than not have unrecorded music, however it did today. I know many individuals in Watford, so it was an incredible night of old and well-known countenances.
Day 7, Wednesday 22nd May 2013, Lewes, East Sussex
The Dorset Inn and I got together with a bundle of companions that I know from when I worked in Alpe d’Huez, France. Not the busiest night there, but rather great fun all the same.
Day 8, Thursday 23rd May 2013, Abbeydale, Gloucester, Gloucestershire
The arrangement here was to see punk band, Noise Agents at the Ridge and Furrow. I’d never observed them, yet I’m happy I have now. The Ridge and Furrow has an immense auto stop that is fine to remain in for one night or then again there is a Morrison’s inverse that I figure you could discretely stop in.
Day 9, Friday 24th May 2013, Brockworth, Gloucester, Gloucestershire
I really played bass myself this night with a few companions, one who is from this territory. It was some help for The British Legion club there, so they let me stop in their auto stop. I set out say if you somehow managed to ask you could as well, they are agreeable.
Day 10, Saturday 25th May 2013, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire
I lived in this town from 1987 to 2002, so I know it quite well. I stopped up in the football club auto stop around the channel, which was OK the length of I was passed by noontime on Sunday (I was). Yet, there are various auto parks and laybys you could without much of a stretch utilize as well. The Goat in the high road is the best unrecorded music bar in Berkhamsted, so that is the place I was for an incredible Saturday night.
Day 11, Sunday 26th May 2013, Bovingdon, Hertfordshire
I was here to see a band at the Halfway House bar. Landowner Chell was cheerful for me to stop in his auto stop, yet inverse the bar is a neglected Jaguar carport which was okay for the night.
Day 12, Monday 27th May 2013, Apsley, Hertfordshire
This was a bank occasion, so stopping was simple. The huge football coordinate with Watford at Wembley was on as well, so everybody was either at Wembley, at home or down the bar watching it. The band I was watching were playing at The Oddfellows Arms in Apsley and just around the back of the bar is a little modern bequest that was forsaken which gave a perfect place to remain for the night.
So there you go, 12 day tour of the UK with ZERO outdoors expenses, because of having a motorhome. Truly this is not your normal motorhome hire occasion, but rather it goes to show how flexible they are and the level of opportunity they offer. Why not get a hire cite today and plan your next outing?
